Maria Glorioso

Mrs. Maria Glorioso of Vista, California passed away peacefully on Monday, May 13, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Born on May 24, 1944 in Gratteri, Sicily, Italy. The daughter of the late Giovanni and Rosaria Oddo of Gratteri,Sicily, devoted wife of Salvatore Glorioso for fifty-six (56) years, loving mother to Angela and Gioacchino (Jack) Glorioso, beloved grandmother to Dorotea, Arman, Alyssa and Julia and great grandmother to Sienna, Chiara and Skyla Rose.

Maria and Salvatore and their children, Angela and Jack arrived in the United States in 1966 and settled in Baltimore, Maryland where they owned and operated successful Italian Restaurants using Maria’s authentic Sicilian recipes. The family relocated to Vista, California in 1989; enjoying retirement in their tranquil, hilltop home surrounded by beautiful fruit trees.

Maria was a selfless woman who was proud of her family and heritage. She embraced her traditional Sicilian customs of cooking, baking, and entertaining family and friends. There was always a seat at her table and everyone was welcomed whole heartedly by Maria. She was happiest surrounded by her family and friends. She will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother whose greatest treasure was her family.
