Born January 28, 1960 in Morgantown, West Virginia to Edith and Angelo Sacco, Lisa’s family moved to Cincinnati in 1960. Lisa was number four of eight children, and she was the comic in the family. She could find humor in just about anything, and had a gift of always making people laugh.
Lisa was a graduate of Oak Hills High School, Class of ’78. After graduation, Lisa worked at Deaconess Hospital as a Surgical Support Technician until she moved to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1999. In Las Vegas, she worked as a Safety and Security Officer at Station Casinos for 15 years. She moved to San Diego, California in December of 2020.
Lisa’s passion was raising her son. She was a Girl Scout in her youth, and supported her son in his quest to become an Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America, which he accomplished.
All in all, Lisa was a loving mother and amazing sister who is loved and cherished by many. She was giving and funny and would do what she could for others. Before entering hospice, she told us to cry now, not later, and asked that we all be happy after she passed. Remember Lisa as she was when she was making you laugh; she had a gift for seeing a situation for what it was and turning it into laughter.
Lisa is survived by her son, Austin Sacco; father, Angelo; siblings David (Ursula), Kim Thomson (Norman), Angela Sacco-Armocida, Maria (the cutest and the one tasked to write this obit), Carl and James; numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces. Preceded in death by her mother, Edith Sacco and brother, Robert Sacco
A Celebration of Life for Lisa will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio at her childhood home on Sunday, July 25, 2021. Details will be posted on social media closer to the date.
As Lisa was Austin’s only parent, in lieu of flowers please donate to the Go Fund Me below that has been set up for Austin by his aunt. All proceeds will go directly to Austin for his educational pursuits.
