Lindy Dela Cruz Castillo, single, born on May 5, 1935 in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He attended Cadaratan Elementary School and Castleson Pasay City High School, Pasay City Philippines. Lindy studied Optometry at De Ocampo College in Manila and later attended Culinary Arts school soon afterward landing his first job as the Floor Manager for D and E Restaurant in Quezon City Philippines. He was then promoted to a position managing and coordinating parties and special occasions, such as weddings, birthdays and special gatherings of government officials. He coordinated celebrations for D and E for 10 years. He then left the restaurant and accepted a position as a special agent for a railroad transportation company. In 1975 he immigrated to Vancouver, Canada with the help of his younger sister Norma Castillo, residing there until 1986 at which time he decided to immigrate to the United States with the help of his mother, Maria Castillo. He worked in Los Angeles for 10 years, became a US citizen and then decided to retire in 1996. He travelled back and forth between the US and the Philippines for several years and even built a home in Project 4, Quezon City. He sent one of his brother's sons to college in Quezon City at this time and he also gifted the house he built to his brother and his family. Upon his return to the US he stayed with Marybeth, his youngest sibling. When he slowed down with his travelling he decided to permanently live with her. Lindy was a very important part of Marybeth's life as he helped raise her three daughters and played a daily role in each of their lives until the day he was taken home. He dedicated his life caring, loving and looking out for her entire family especially the youngest, Lizelle, who he treated like his very own child. Lindy was a selfless, quiet and generous man, always helpful to his family and friends. In all that he did, he gave every part of himself and expected nothing in return. His love and presence will be missed by his entire family.
