Julia Olga is survived by her four children John P. Corral, Olga Elena Corral, Arturo P. Corral, and Patricia Corral Leon, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Julia Olga was born in the city of Bonds Corner located in Imperial Valley, California, on July 12, l930, to Teresa Laguna Fimbres and Rodolfo León Perdomo. In 1931 the Perdomo family migrated to Mexicali, the capital of the Mexican state of Baja California, and resided there for more than 20 years. Julia Olga attended schools in Mexicali and was honored by being chosen homecoming queen by her high school academy. On December 9, 1950, she married John Cazares Corral, also a long-time resident of Mexicali. The Corral family immigrated to Calexico, California, in 1958, where they lived for over 30 years. On May 15, 1952, then on June 17, 1954; December 15, 1956, and on July 19, 1961, Julia Olga welcomed the birth of her children John, Olga Elena, Arturo, and Patricia, respectively, who were the most important part of her life.
Julia Olga was a devoted mother and adept cook of the cuisine of northern Mexico. She loved the music of her Mexican culture and enjoyed singing it at the top of her voice whenever the opportunity came up. Julia Olga was a spiritual woman. She was a devout Catholic and became an active member of the church community in Calexico and Oceanside, California. She always had a smile for everyone and was thrilled to share and teach what she learned from her Mexican heritage and religious studies. Julia Olga will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
The viewing service is scheduled for Monday, July 17, 2023, from 4-8 PM at Eternal Hills Mortuary and Crematory at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside. A Spanish language mass will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 1:30 PM at the Old Mission San Luis Rey in Oceanside. The graveside service will take place immediately after the mass. Flowers and condolences can be offered at the Eternal Hills Mortuary and Crematory found at 1999 El Camino Real, Oceanside, California 92054.
Mom, you will never be forgotten. You will live on through your children, grandchildren, great grand-children and your future descendants to come. Mom, may you rest in peace.
