Guadalupe “Wally” Saucedo, Jr., 81 of Oceanside, California went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 18th, 2017 at Tri-City Medical Center. He was born on November 12, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas.
Preceding him in death were his son, Mark Anthony Saucedo, his sister, Mary Obrego, his mother, Amelia Valdez Saucedo and his father, Guadalupe Saucedo, Sr.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Frances Carrisal Saucedo, son, Guadalupe “Wally” Saucedo, III, daughter, Sharon Kay Neprud and Vicki Lee (Manuel) Aguirre (of San Antonio, Texas). He is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. His surviving siblings are Jesse (Frances) Saucedo and Dolores (Sonny) Montiel.
Wally proudly served the United States Marine Corp. for 20 years, 2 months and 10 days! After retiring from the Corp., he went to cosmetology school and became a hairdresser to work alongside his wife, Frances at the Salon de Oceana, the salon they proudly owned together for 32 years.
Some of his many passions included, fishing in Ensenada and hunting deer and elk in Colorado and Camp Pendleton. He also enjoyed maintaining his 5 acres of land where he built his home, raised his children and grew avocados and oranges.
Wally was a member of the V.F.W. and Knights of Columbus. He loved his family and was fiercely protective of each and every one of them.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting a charitable contribution be made to the charity of your choice.
A memorial will be held at the Marine Memorial Chapel on Camp Pendleton, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
