Gordon was predeceased by his beloved wife, Cupie, his parents, and 5 siblings: Wendall, Haleakala, Noenoe, William and Donna.
Gordon is survived by his sisters, Pilialoha Edlouise and Brucella Halani, his daughter, Alethea Liliuokala, his son, Gordon Wayne Jr, his daughter-in-law, Kelly, his 8 grandchildren and his 5 great grandchildren and many more beloved family & friends.
Gordon was born on January 1, 1937 in Honolulu, HI to Katherine Ku’uleialoha Tirrell and William Bruce Hopkins Jr. As a child, Gordon is described as being very kind, loving and protective over his family, especially his sisters.
As a young adult, Gordon met a beautiful woman from Hana, Maui, named Cupie. They married & together had 2 children, Alethea & Gordon Jr. He joined the US Marine Corps in 1958 and proudly served his country, completing 3 tours in Vietnam and Okinawa.
Gordon is best known for his spirit of aloha, his lighthearted sense of humor, his charisma, and his love and commitment for his family.
A viewing will be held on Friday, June 28, 2019 from 8am-10am immediately followed by a funeral service at 10am at Eternal Hills Mortuary Chapel in Oceanside, CA.
