Gunnery Sergeant George Foreman was born in Yazoo City, Mississippi on May 3, 1947 to his parents Ada and George (Sharp) Foreman, Sr. George retired from the United States Marine Corps after serving his country valiantly for 22 years. George served during the Vietnam War and also completed tours of duty in Iwakuni Japan, and Okinawa, Japan.
George was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan; he loved to play music, fish, playing dominoes and cards with his friends. He really enjoyed his Wednesday night while bowling in a league. He leaves to cherish his legacy his childhood sweetheart, love of his life and wife of 48 years Mary (Jenkins) Foreman. George and Mary lovingly raised three daughters, Michelle, Marion (Chase Masters), and Marissa; two sons, Laurence Foreman, Sr. (Michelle) and George Foreman, III. George has two other daughters, Loveda Butcher and Yolanda Johnson who live in Muskegon, Michigan and his sister Ammie Foreman-Dowling (Fred). George also has 12 grandchildren including Rhea, Mariah, Tirzah, Laurence, Jr., Miriam, Kalen, Kendall, Damaris, Russell, Markes, Devante, and Emerald; and 16 great grandchildren, two special friends, Andy Whyms, and Chase Masters; a host of in-laws, nieces and nephews, friends and fellow marines. George was preceded in death by his mother and father. Gunnery Sergeant George Foreman, Jr. will always be loved and missed. Semper Fi Gunny!
