Today it's 5 years.  I always dread the days coming up to this date every year.  I try not to dwell on this life without you but it's hard.  I still miss you and wish you would come home.  I feel lonely without you.  I miss talking to you and just living our day to day.  I envy couples.  I wish you were here to hold my hand again.  Flower is helping.  You would just love her. Today marks two years since you left.  The day has been ok.  My mom helped.  We talk weekly now.

We're past the year mark.  I tried to stay busy.  If I don't think about it too hard it doesn't hurt as much.  I worry that holding back may hurt me unless I can keep it up for a while.  I miss our trips.  I'm sorry I didn't go more times with you.  I miss our mundane life.  I don't like being bold for everyone.  It's not ok that you're not here.  I have no one to talk to. Please come back.  What I wouldn't give for 5 more minutes with you.  Empty is how I feel.  I sometimes tell myself you're just camping and will be through the door at any time.  I imagine you somewhere on the outskirts of Saturn headed to another galaxy, looking back down here.  I'm not afraid anymore.  I will see you there soon.

Dear Fred,

I am doing ok.  I miss you terribly.  Some days I think it's getting better, but other days I don't.  I don't know how people get through this kind of thing.  I found some pictures of you.  You are so handsome.  I found the voice recordings too.  It was so lovely to hear your voice.  Your unending words of encouragement.  I even the other day managed to get into the old STOC forum and found messages for you.  There were so many people who sent nice messages.  Many talked about your individuality and uniqueness.  I wish you'd seen them because I think you would feel the true camaraderie.  I found a poem by Henry Scott Holland that basically  stops the gravity with which people feel death and speaks of how you're just in the next room.  Of all the things I've read this one helps most.  You are just in the next room waiting.  A whisper away.  Always within range of me, even though I can't see you.  I love you like no other and since you're just in the next room I talk like we always have.   Love, Pooh.
