Remembering and contemplating on our coworker and friend, Francisco ( Frank ) Calderon today.

A snapshot of the moment that you and Kimmy were first getting to know each other.  What lied ahead were so many days, months and years of memories and love created that will last in our hearts forever. I’m grateful to have witnessed some of these moments and met you, Phranke. You were always a good friend, ready to help out, give advice, or just be there, even when we didn’t get to see each other that often—your presence remained the same. May you Rest In Paradise. 

In one of our get togethers, I saw Frank talking to the neighbor outside. None of us really knew the neighbor, but next thing you know, Frank brought him in and he joined the party! As evidenced by that day, and all who knew him, Frank had a big room in his heart to share. 

And I thank God He made room in Frank’s life as a part of our family. You’ll always be with us, especially through Kim and X. We’ll be toasting to you and your memory, till we see you again bro! 

I met Frank through Kim and when we met, we connected right away. As many say, “If you don’t know Frank, you’ll know him by the end of the night.” Frank left an impression on me that led me to trust him and our friendship grew into a brotherhood. I have many memories of him and one that stood out the most was at my bachelor party. We were at Catalina Island where our agenda was to survive on the island. It was a “Man vs Wild” adventure. Two days into our trip, our party of twelve men lost patience into foraging and scavenging for food. Frank, being the kind and thoughtful person he is, volunteered to hike miles up and down the rolling hills to grab food and water. No questions ask, he left at the break of dawn without notice and reappeared several hours later in the afternoon with food and water. I could tell by the look on his face that he was exhausted and tired but he still managed to keep a smile on his face. It was Frank’s sacrifice and kindness that kept my bachelor party alive for the last three days. Frank is a man who valued his friends’ happiness and expected nothing in return. He never backs down and goes out of his way to make his friends happy. 
Another grateful service that Frank did was stay up all night to put together a compilation of birthday greetings that friends and family did for my daughter’s 8th birthday. This was in the midst of COVID and my daughter said it was the best birthday present ever. 
Although, I cannot repay him for all the kind gestures he’s done, I will pay it forward and keep his memory and spirit alive by watching over Kim and Xavier and connecting with his other friends. I love you brother. 
I know that you’re in heaven and you are God’s Warrior angel. Relax well in Paradise my friend, my comrade, and my brother. Until we meet again brother, I look forward to seeing you with open arms. “A true friend doesn’t go away, they walk beside each other everyday, unseen, unheard, but always near to our heart.”

I met Frank through my husband Derek. They worked together for a few years. I would tell my husband, Frank is my favorite friend of his before we all became great friends. Frank just had a good heart and you could tell. He was genuine and honest with a good sense of humor. He had one of the best laughs that I can still hear.  We would all go to lunch together, sushi spots and have so much fun, sometimes they wouldn't go back to work haha. We had many bowling memories, he was such a good bowler!!! Wedding memories, backyard fire pit talks, friend gatherings. He was an amazing brother to Patrick, it was so beautiful to see the bond they shared and he was such a wonderful dad. Frank & Kim were a great match, balancing eachother perfectly. Derek and I will always be here whenever the family needs anything! Please reach out. We will miss Frank so incredibly much. It still doesn't feel real that he is not with us anymore. he was such a light and now he is an angel spreading a light from above. Much love to all the family.

Phranke and Jose were one of my very first bowling teams at VEC and many years since. Friends who became Family. It’s one thing to know someone on a personal level, but incredible to hear the memories of so many others whom were also touched by his presence. I am thankful to have known such an amazing individual. From your kindness all the way to your goofiness. 💛 Rest in Love Phranke! Find my Mom up there and give her a hug for me.

Also that summer they attended cousin María Augusta’s wedding and they were so elegant and well behaved, they were adorable.

The summer of 1990 was so very especial, Andy, Fernan, Frank and Fran had a great time in Ecuador together, traveling, visiting historic sites and of course the unmissable equatorial line.

Francisco and I were first cousins. Here in this picture,  getting ready to go find chocolate eggs with our grandparents, Haydee and Pepe. We spent so many holidays and birthdays and random weekends together and with our grandparents <3

You will always be in my mind and in my heart. Love you nonoy. ❤️ 


Frank… you truly will be missed & loved. Your thunderous laugh and loud voice (with the help of some Ipa’s) will never be forgotten. Thank you for always being there, always lending a helping hand, always listening to all my gibberish and always being a kind soul. Your unselfishness and kindness will always be treasured and I will try to be a better person because of it. Thank you for all the memories, great laughs and comfort. Love you
