On September 17, 2022, Charles began his new journey to meet his lord God in heaven.
Born on April 27, 1928 to his parents Pedro and Rosario Blanco, he was one of 10 brothers and sisters.
His parents had a very hard life as a farmer and a house wife, but managed to raise a large family in Oceanside, in which they had to travel throughout California to pick various produce going up. He had a long life commitment to faith in God, family, friends, country, education, and compassion for others.
In saying that, he was the kind of man who would help his family, friends and community at large and give them that special piece of himself in the process. He did that with all of us who knew him and we are truly grateful to have had such a wonderful precious man in our lives.
He married the love of his life Angelina on October 15, 1949. They meet in Carlsbad and married there too. 73 years of commitment and love produced 2 sons, Tom and Davey. In turn Tom had 2 sons, and Davey 1 son. And of course his grandsons produced 5 great grandchildren. He also had a loving daughter-in-law Dorothy.
In those years of marriage and eventual retirement, he had military service in the US Navy and US Marines from October 1945 to December 1952, then around 18 years of Barbering (Carlsbad, Anaheim and Riverside) and 20 years of US Postal Service in Anaheim. He truly believed in service to community and his beloved country. He lead by example to shows us that working hard and continuously you can be success and have an enduring family.
Education was extremely important to him. His graduation from High School was something he had been extremely proud of, along with, his education in electronics during his military service which he would talk about. He always encouraged his Grandsons, Steve, Brian and Tommy to go to College. And he was proud that they all received a College degree. He himself had received many awards in the military, made it to Staff Sergeant. He was proud to of received his Barber College diploma and later in years he was proud of his US Postal Service Awards. He was always an avid reader of the bible, California Aqueducts, biographies, financial books and so much more.
Through many years, he loved to coach baseball for youth sports.
He loved his wife and they were always together. They enjoyed so many parties, dances, and family outings, trips across the country, trips to Mexico, and 35 different California casinos.
He was a man who set a lasting impression on everyone he met. In closing he loved spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids because that is what made him feel alive!
