Brian Jolliffe, age 61, passed away on Sunday May 2, 2010. Brian lived in Valley Center the past 19 years. Brian was born in Dearborn, Michigan. His parents were Lionel and Violet Jolliffe. His brother, 'Butch' predeceased Brian. He is survived by his sister, Bonnie Araluce of Santa Barbara. Brian attended high school in Santa Barbara and continued to enjoy the company of his high school friends Timmy, Brett, Robbie and Scotty Brooks.
Brian moved to Poway in 1980 and married Lynn Craig, they had three children, Marshall, Nicole, and Toby. There are four grandchildren Damien, Violet, Macie, and Jackson. The family home was open to all and barbecues were Brian's specialty. He built a cabana that offered an outdoor kitchen and totem oles for visitors to sign. The pool was full of family, friends, and the four labs that were a testament to Brian's love of animals.
Brian proudly served in Vietnam in the army air infantry. He pursued his interest in airplanes and helicopters after the war. He taught helicopter and airplane repair. Brian was a skilled mechanic and if the tool was not available he made. He was a true jack of all trades.
He was a generous man and gave to many causes. Brian loved to grow cactus, watch the night sky, ride motorcycles, he was a collector of coins and coca cola memorabilia, he loved shooting guns and had a passion for refurbishing old Chevy trucks.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 pm Friday, May 14, 2010 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park in Oceanside. A reception will be held at Brian's home in Valley Center.
