On March 25, 2019 our heavenly Father claimed one of his own, William Carvan Isles II better known as “Bill Isles” He went home to be with the Lord at the age of 78. He was born on January 4th 1941 in McAtenville, North Carolina to the parentage of the late William Carvan Isles and Catharine Mae Isles-White. At the age of 2 the family moved to Canton, Ohio where he attended McKinley High School. Growing up in Canton he liked hunting, fishing, sports, and attending church where he learned to sing. Bill and a few of his childhood friends formed a singing group, The Mascots. The Mascots would practice harmonizing around town and caught the attention of a DJ who changed their name to the O’Jays. This would eventually land them in California.
While performing in California he met Laural Hogan his wife of 52 years. They spent their lives raising 7 children, working, and later opening a family business until retirement. Bill spent his last years fishing, golfing, and singing in his church’s choir.
Bill was preceded in death by his four brothers; Cedric, Russell, Cornell, and Carl Isles. He leaves to cherish in his memory; his wife, Laural Isles; his four sons Donnell (Yvonne) Isles, Duane, Billy III and, Terry Isles, his 3 daughters: Denise (Anthony)Isles-Taylor, Rheutitia “Tish” Isles, Laural (Dewayne) Gadison, his brother Ron Isles, 4 sisters Catherine Ann Burt, Johnnie Mae Everett, Octavia Joyce Isles, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
