Barbara Worth Rosenberg, 92, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2014, she was surrounded by her children after a long life. Barbara was the only child of Ruby Harris Hansen and John August Hansen of Wellington, Illinois; she was born on December 17, 1921. Barbara graduated from Illinois Wesleyan University as a Registered Nurse in 1942. She worked in the operating room, chief of Nursing at a small hospital, in the emergency room, in a Doctor’s office and finally as a company nurse in a manufacturing plant. She was a proud member of the Daughters of the American Revolution of more than 42 years. Barbara was a member at both the Downey and Oceanside Chapters. During her long and happy life, she lived in Dayton, Ohio, Guam, and the last 62 years in California in the cities of El Centro, Downey and then Oceanside. She is fondly remembered by all who knew her as a soft spoken lady who was always reading. For many years, she read 3 books a week! She also loved to sing, especially holiday songs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Isadore Rosenberg, who spent 25 years in the U. S. Air Force. Barbara is survived by her three daughters and their spouses; and her five grandchildren and their spouses; and four great grandchildren: Pamela Cipra, husband Jim of Long Beach and her children Richard Cipra, of Los Angeles, and Michael Cipra, and wife Jane of Eureka; Diana Cook, husband Jim of Carlsbad and children Timothy Scott Cook of Carlsbad, and Christine Zoepfl and her husband Bryan and their children Trevor and Dylan of Carlsbad; Janet Fitzgerald, and her child Dawn Pedrotti and her partner Roland Balmer and her children Brenden Pedrotti and Aubrey Balmer of Vista.
