Growing up, Arthur experienced the many facets of being part of a military family. Attending 8 different schools from Michigan to North Carolina to Maryland to Washington state and finally California, he graduated from Fallbrook High School in June 1967. Following graduation, Arthur worked as a stockman for the Marine Corps Exchange for the next year. He then joined the US Navy in April of 1968. After initial recruit training at NTC San Diego, Arthur was assigned to Helicopter Support Squadron 5 (HC-5) as a plank holder at NAS Imperial Beach for his total military service. Arthur was awarded the National Defense Service medal.
Upon Arthur’s Honorable Discharge, he immediately set about to find a profession that best suited himself. He joined Cal Fire as a firefighter which lasted one season of which he said, “Hills and me don’t work well together.” After that experience, he found a position at the Vista School District and later, at the San Marcos Unified School District (both in CA) and retired as a custodian from that position.
Arthur is survived by his wife of 51 years: Maria (Solorio) Brady, one son and daughter, Charles and Cynthia Brady, 2 brothers and their spouses: John and Angela Brady of Escondido, CA, Patrick Brady and Julie Josund of Seattle, WA, and a sister: Marguerite Brady and Bryan Smith of Edmonds, WA. Arthur was especially grateful for his many sisters- and brothers-in-laws, as well as the many nephews and nieces from both the Brady and Solorio families.
