Alice Celis Staggs, aged 91, went to be with the Lord on July 10th 2024 in Wildomar, CA. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Alice was born on February 26th 1933 in IloIlo Philippines where she went to elementary, high school and IloIlo City College where she was part of the swim team. She earned a scholarship to ‘Far Eastern University (FEU) in Manila graduating with a bachelor’s degree majoring in journalism and physical education training youth how to swim competitively in the school’s athletics program. Alice was part of the Filipino Olympic swim team where she specialized in the women’s breaststroke.
Alice was a dedicated wife to her husband Ronald Glenn Staggs of 67 years. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. In retirement Alice and Ron would spend hours fishing on the harbor pier in Oceanside, shopping and cooking for family events and get togethers. Alice was a very caring giving person and whatever the holiday occasion she would make sure she had something to give to make that individual feel special.
Alice is preceded in death by her husband Ronald Glenn Staggs, her children, Ronnie Jr, Caron Elizabeth and Timothy Allen, mother and father Julia and Julio Celis, sisters Eva and Lilly. She is survived by her siblings Arthur/Leyte, Innocentes/Linda, Greg and Lina Celis. Her children, Edna (Rich) Hamilton, John (Jacqueline) Staggs, Douglas (Rachelle) Staggs, and Alesha Rousseau, her grandchildren: Caron, Jon, Julia, Dakota, Joshua, Zachary (Becca) Brandon (Caylie), Sarah, Dustin, Cody, Donald, nieces Lindy Hansen, Brenda Serio and Lisa Bullen a special sister in law and dear family friend Doreen Dehaan along with 9 great grandchildren, Colton, Marley, Bella ,Sunny, Grayson, Oakley, Eva, Layla and Benjamin. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved our beloved “Nanay”
A celebration of life will be held at Eternal Hills Memorial Park at 1999 S. El Camino Real in Oceanside, CA on Saturday July 27th, 2024 from 1:00-2:00 pm with graveside service at 2:15 pm followed by a reception at 3:00pm
