Alfredo is survived by his mother Catalina Tatenco Parra, eight siblings Lola, Rosa, Viro, Jorge, Luis, Cesar, Mario, and Lili. Alfredo had many nieces and nephews which he loved and often thought of as his own kids. He was preceded by his father Aurelio M. Tatenco and his nieces Rosa Linda Mora and Adriana Nataly Reyes.
Alfredo loved the outdoors and throughout his life he was involved in many sports starting in high school where he played football and was given the nickname “Tank”. Later, he played softball in many local Vista softball teams with some of his brothers and many of his longtime homies. He also liked to snowboard at Big Bear and Mammoth Mountain and one of his favorites passed times was playing golf with his family and friends.
Throughout his life, he had several professions and eventually found his passion working as an auto body technician which included Security Chevrolet in Vista, Patrick Flynn’s Collision & Frame in Vista and the last ten years at Fender Mender Collision Repair in Encinitas. He worked in this profession for over 30 years and made wonderful friends which he considered his second family.
Alfredo loved cars, but his favorite was the “Mighty Monte”, his royal blue 1976 Chevy Monte Carlo. Many of his family members and friends were honored to be driven to Quinceneras, weddings, or special events in his pride Monte Carlo while listening to great music or some of his wonderful stories. Alfredo also enjoyed cooking and barbequing. We will miss his signature dishes like the teriyaki glazed chicken wings, brown sugar salmon, enchilada casserole, and shrimp cocktail.
Alfredo will be missed for his caring heart, big smile, and devotion to family and friends.
