Stanley Blechman, 92, of Tinton Falls, died March 3rd, 2018. Born in Paterson and raised in Newark, NJ, he attended South Side High School. Stanley proudly served in the 286th combat engineers in the European Theater during World War II. After the war, he returned home and earned a degree in accounting from New York University.
In 1956, he married the love of his life, Miriam Greenberg, also of Newark. They settled in Hillside, where they lived for 20 years and became active in the Jewish community there. Stanley served as president of Temple Shomrei Torah.and was a member of the Jewish War Veterans and B’nai Brith. Stanley worked as an accountant for a number of companies throughout New Jersey, eventually retiring from the Alorna Coat Corporation in Hoboken. Upon retirement, Stanley and Miriam moved to Monroe Township where they enjoyed an active life for 28 years. They recently relocated to The Chelsea, an assisted living community in Tinton Falls.
Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Miriam, his son Michael Blechman, his wife Judi and his three grandchildren Adam Rosen, Leigh and Scotty Blechman.
Funeral Services will be held at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels in Ocean Township on Sunday, March 4th at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin, NJ. The Family will be sitting Shiva at their home in Holmdel on Sunday from 4PM -9PM and on Monday and Tuesday from 1PM to 9PM. Memorial Donations in his memory may be made to the Jewish War Veterans of the United States of America.
