Donald Wayne Nissim, known to many as Don, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on March 23 at the age of 74. Born in the Bronx, Don was a lifelong resident of Monmouth County, NJ. He enjoyed spending winters at his home in Sanibel Island. He graduated from Ocean Township High School and attended College at Southampton University.
Don was a dedicated businessman, serving as the president of Data Base Services and the Musical Heritage Society in Ocean Township, NJ, and co-owned several automotive dealerships in Monmouth County.
He was a social, friendly, and passionate individual with many interests. An avid road bike racer, he also found joy in gardening and had a deep love for cars—especially Porsche, a passion he shared with his daughter Rachael. Music was another of Don’s many talents; he played the keyboard since his teenage years. He was a devoted Yankees fan and loved attending the games.
Above all, Don was a family man. He cherished his late wife, Debbie, his three children, and his beloved dog, Ben. His positive attitude, humor, and ability to make people laugh left a lasting impression on those who knew him.
Don is survived by his son, Frank Nissim; daughter, Rachael Nissim; grandchildren, Lena Nissim and Sam Smith; his brother, Jeff Nissim and wife Anne; sister-in-law, Carol Nissim; and beloved nieces and nephew. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Debbie Nissim; daughter, Jennifer Nissim; brother, Robert Nissim; and parents, Dorothy and Albert Nissim. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering optimism will be deeply missed.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 27, 2025 at Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels in Ocean Township. Burial will immediately follow at Cedar Park Cemetery in Paramus, NJ.
Shiva will be observed from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the home of Jeff and Anne Nissim, 10 N. Tamarack Drive, Brielle, NJ.
