Carole Moser, age 81, of West Allenhurst, New Jersey passed away on Monday, June 17, 2024. She was born to Brendin and Ruth Houser on February 19, 1943 in Franklin, Pennsylvania. She left Pennsylvania and lived in Michigan for several years working as a Radiology Technician, before settling in the New Jersey in the late 1960s and taking a job at Fort Monmouth as a Contracting Officer. She received dozens of awards and citations for her excellent work at Ft. Monmouth.
She was a graduate of Rocky Grove High School (Franklin, PA), and later earned a BA from Thomas Edison University. She loved to learn and to teach, and volunteered through the Eatontown Public Schools to help learning disabled children. She was also an animal lover, always with a cat or two in her home and a large container of bird seed outside to attract and nourish the birds and squirrels. She constantly donated to the ASPCA and other animal protection charities. She loved to knit, bake, cook, read, and stay current on local and national events. She was incredibly observant of even the smallest detail, and remained “as sharp as a tack” until her passing.
Mrs. Moser is survived by her son, spine surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery, Matthew E. Cunningham MD PhD, and wife Erin Fealy Cunningham, PhD; her sisters Becky and Heidi; and her three grandchildren: Grace, Finnian, and Teagan Cunningham.
Carole was predeceased by her spouse of 37 years, Kenneth J. Moser; her sisters Jane, Joyce, and Linda; and her parents.
A graveside service will be determined at Beth Miriam Memorial Park, 2470 West Bangs Avenue, Neptune, New Jersey 07753. A celebration of Carole’s life will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Carole's memory may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), www.aspca.org.
Bloomfield-Cooper Jewish Chapels, Ocean, are in charge of arrangements.
