William “Bill” Hunter Simpson, the patriarch of a large blended family, left us on September 28, 2016 after 87 years on this earth. His kindness, humor, and goodness touched everyone he met. But it was Bill’s dignity, courage, fortitude, intelligence, and independence that were most admired by his family and friends. It was those qualities that made him a role model for his children.
Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Bill had distinguished careers in the United States Air Force and within the aerospace industry. After decades of service to his country, Bill retired, moved from Colorado Springs to Florida, and enjoyed an active lifestyle in The Villages for more than 20 years.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Jean Simpson of The Villages, his children, several grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 4, 2016 at St. George Episcopal Church, 1250 Paige Place in The Villages. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
