Sophia Bryla Baran

Sophia Baran, 86, Belleview, FL. went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2010 under the loving care of family and Marion County Hospice at Sylvia’s Hospice House in Ocala, FL. Mrs. Baran was born on May 1, 1923 in Krakow, Poland to her parents John and Anna Bryla. While living in Poland she was a Registered Nurse and after immigrating to America she became a homemaker. She was a member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Belleview, FL. Sophia’s love for her son and grandson was without a doubt her main focus in her daily life.

Survived by her son: John Joseph Chelminski and wife Neera Bobbie Chelminski of Ocala, FL.; two sisters: Anna Zietkiewicz and Lucy Wojtkiewicz both of Newark, N.Y.; grandson: Rishi Edward Chelminski of Ocala, FL. Preceded in death by her husband of 30 years Edward Baran.

A Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 9:00 AM at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Belleview, FL. with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Ocala, FL. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2010 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Ocala, FL.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made in Sophia’s loving memory to Hospice of Marion County.
