Robert Edward Goss Sr.

Robert Edward Goss Sr. “Bob”, age 90, passed away peacefully on Monday February 23, 2015 in Ocala, Fl. Bob was born to the late William Lucius and Elsie Decker Goss on March 5, 1924 in Windham, OH. In 1943 Bob married his high school sweetheart, the late Eugenia Mae Phillips “Jean”, and joined the Navy. Bob served his country honorably in the Pacific on a sub chaser. After the Navy he was drafted by the Washington Senators as a pitcher, which brought him to Florida. He left his short baseball career to raise a family. After leaving baseball he worked for Martin Marietta where he eventually retired. Bob was an avid sports fan. He loved bowling as well as fishing in Florida's fresh water lakes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Goss; his sister Ruth “Sis” (Charles) Dollinson and brother Calvin (Hazel) Goss; as well as two grandchildren, Lara Anne and Robert E. “Robby”Goss.

He is survived by his wife Margaret Loveday Goss; sister Shirley (Bill) Kitlinger; sons, Edward L. (Sandra) Goss, Ronald L. (Cindi) Goss, and Robert Jr. “Bobby” (Diane) Goss; step-daughters, Katie Jonas, Jennifer Jonas, and Stephanie Jonas; Grandchildren, Scott (Tiffany) Goss, Tonya Goss (Ronnie) Berryhill, Eric (Krista) Goss, Daniel “Danny” Goss, Nichole “Nicki”Goss (Jimmy) Riney, Shaun (Laura) Goss, Shelby Goss, Brantley Ricks, Jessaniah Brumale, Scarlett and Zoey Ousle; 10 great grandchildren as well as many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
