Born in New York City, in 1926, Mary Lou was a kind, generous woman. She was married for 35 years to the love of her life, John E. Yingling who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her son, Robert. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Her first employment was with The American Home Journal, NY. After marriage, she moved to Paramus, New Jersey to raise her family in the country. To provide extra income, she worked for many years at New York Twist Drill Company, NJ. In 1991 she earned her Associate’s Degree from Bergen Community College. Mary Lou enjoyed a happy retirement in the Original Leisure Village of Lakewood, NJ. Her years there included many friends and travels, as well as, daily swims.
Mary Lou is survived by her son, Michael Yingling of Paramus, NJ, daughter Jean Yingling (Steven Slyter) of Lady Lake, Florida, grandchildren Brian (Melissa) and Kristen Yingling, Monica Slyter (Phillip Wilburn), Pamela Shanklin (Scott), and, Matthew Slyter (Megan), niece, Tracey Morse, and many great grandchildren. She was thrilled to meet her youngest great-grandchild, Christopher Yingling, age 2, at her 92nd birthday party.
Mary Lou will be remembered for her love of family, her courage to face hard times with humor and her endearing ability to always find the best in all of us.
