Mary was born in Sparks, GA on August 13, 1925 and was married to William Horace Coker on
June 13, 1942 .
Family being her priority, Mary supported and raised 9 children while living and working at Jensen’s Dairy, next to Shady Fire Department in Ocala, FL. After moving from Jensen’s Dairy, she worked primarily in the Food Service Industry. Before retiring, she served with Howard Johnson, Marion Community Hospital, and Morrison’s Cafeteria, all in Ocala, FL.
Mary was known most for how she loved God and loved others. She epitomized unconditional love and would drop anything to help family, friends and even strangers. A longtime member of Ocala Baptist Temple, Mary loved reading her bible, attending church services and fellowshipping. She also enjoyed doing puzzles, watching her birds and chickens, and most importantly, spending quality time with her family and friends.
She is survived by Ola Mae Seaton, Alvin Coker, Mary Dyal, Frank Coker (Ethel), Kathy Strong, and Rex Coker, all of Ocala, FL. In addition to her immediate family, she is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, twenty-six great-great grandchildren, and numerous friends, nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William H. Rutherford and Eliza Bennett; her husband Horace Coker, her sons Wayne Coker and Bob Coker and her daughter Betty Watrous all of Ocala, FL.
Funeral services will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on September 30, 2021 with Visitation from 1pm to 2pm with Funeral service at 2pm. A graveside service at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens will follow at 3pm.
