Margaret Holmes Robinson was born on Edisto Island, SC, October 11, 1927, to Sarah Boykin Holmes and H. McGowan Holmes. She graduated from the University of South Carolina in 1948, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority and Pi Gamma Mu International Honor Society in Social Sciences. She married Page Pendleton Robinson, Jr. in 1949. They lived in Sumter and Orangeburg, SC, before moving to Ocala in 1964. Page was then co-owner and executive vice president of three theme parks, including Six Gun Territory. In later life, Margaret assisted her husband in his property management business.
Margaret was active in Grace Episcopal Church where she served on the altar guild, the vestry, Grace Church School Board, Grace’s Prison Ministry, Daughters of the King and The Order of St. Luke. She traveled to many churches in NC, SC and FL with the Faith Alive movement. In 2009, she and her husband moved to Christ the King Anglican Church, where she was active in The Order of St. Luke, the Sunday prayer teams, and the emergency prayer chain.
Predeceased by husband Page (August 2011), she is survived by her daughters Deas Robinson Bohn and husband Martin J. Bohn, Jr. of Tallahassee; Sarah Robinson and husband Charles Sawyer of Apalachicola; son Page Robinson III of Ocala; and sister Ellen Holmes Wright of Columbia, SC.
The memorial service will be held at Christ the King Anglican Church on Tues., March 22, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Bo Ubbens officiating. Memorials may be made to Transitions Life Center or Christ the King Anglican Church or Hospice of Marion County.
