James G. Palmer, 80, passed away April 18, 2013. He was born on October 04, 1932 in Pleasant Hill, Missouri , to James W. Palmer and Ola B. Palmer. His parents and a step daughter Wendolyn Kramer preceded him in death. He was employed by Farmland Industries for 31 years. He managed Central Cooperative in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, and United Cooperative in Hampton, Nebraska. On December 4, 1995 he was awarded the Dreyer Award for outstanding management. James was a member of the Methodist Church in Aurora, Nebraska After retiring to Florida in 1995 he was a consultant for many Coops throughout the Midwest, and in Russia for three weeks. During his retirement he enjoyed playing golf, billiards, reading, watching football and other sports, and working in his yard and growing flowers. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 37 years, LaVonne, daughter and son-in-law Bambi and Alan Clark in Texas, a son Brent Palmer in Missouri, step children, Susan Dale in Florida, John Kramer in Kansas, grandchildren, Garret Kramer, of Florida, Aaron, Palmer, of Missouri, Dakota Kramer of Kansas, Jessica Renfrew of Kansas, Alex Renfrew of Kansas, Nicholas Kramer of North Carolina, and Tucker Kramer of North Carolina. A memorial service and Celebration of James’ Life will be held on May 25, 2013 at 2:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, Ocala, Florida. Contributions may be made to the Cancer Society or St. Jude’s.
