Born in Eustis, FL, to Edwin and Tommie Rebecca Holland he married Dolores Fahs in March of 1958. Together they celebrated 36 years of marriage and the birth of two daughters before her passing in 1994.
Edwin was a man of many interests. A devoted family man, he was especially devoted to his Mother and LOVED her cooking!! Among his favorite foods were Ice cream, apple pie, cubed steak with rice and gravy, pot roast and peanut butter cookies. He loved taking care of his yard and travelling. Some of his adventures included Paris, London, Switzerland, and Holland. When he was at home Edwin loved taking care of his yard and supporting his favorite college football team, the Gators!! He was also a member of The Elks Lodge in Ocala.
He worked as a Security Guard at Silver Springs and Mark III in Ocala.
When asked to describe him his daughters responded with warm smiles that he was first and foremost an honest man, a big flirt, and LOVED to make people laugh; that he always carried a hankie, and the sayings he was known for was “Feed the Crow” and “Got any money?”.
Edwin is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Luther Holland Sr. and Tommie Rebecca (Huckaby) Holland, his brother Joseph Lewis Holland, and his beloved wife Dolores. He is survived by two daughters; Tamra L. Holland, and Teresa (Douglas) Byrd, both Ocala, FL; four grandchildren, Tara (Josh) Keefe and Jason Hash, both in PA, and DeeDee (Rob) Stewart and Zachary Byrd, both of Ocala; as well as eight great grandchildren.
He is deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
