Edward A. Speakman, of The Villages, Florida, passed away on November 25, 2018. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the youngest of 11 children. Edward was a US Navy veteran of WWII, and was an accountant at Equitable Gas Company before he retired. He taught reading through the Pittsburgh Literacy Council. Edward loved to play cards, and visited Florida on numerous family vacations until he moved to Florida permanently in 1995. He was a Catholic by faith and served as an usher for more than 25 years. Edward loved his pets and was a master at performing little acts of kindness for friends and neighbors. Married to his wife, Phyllis for 68 years, he loved square and round dancing.
Edward is survived by his wife, Phyllis, children, Patricia Conville (Greg), Mark Speakman (Maureen Glancy), Jeff Speakman (Ann), 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and his sister, Jeane Varuola.
Mass will be celebrated on Friday, November 30, 2018 at 8:30am at St Timothy Catholic Church in The Villages.
