Charles Wesley Hand

Charles was born in Washington DC, the son of Albert Murray and Mildred Irene Hand. Prior to his retirement Charles worked as Vice President of Environmental Services at Monroe Regional Medical Center where he enjoyed working there for 46 years (1962 to 2008). During his career at MRMC he created the first purchasing and personnel departments, and he lead several major hospital expansion projects.

Charles is survived by his wife, Libby; daughters & sons in law, Lorrie & Jim Pharmer of Melbourne, FL, and Leslie & EJ Wise of Ocala, FL; grandsons & granddaughters in law, Weston & Ellie Wise, and Landon & Alyssa Wise; grandson, Griffin Pharmer; and granddaughter & grandson in law, Becky Pharmer & Braddock McDonald. He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Charles Austin Hand; and sister, Millie Hand-Biawitz.

Charles spent his leisure time boating and fishing, playing video games, watching Gator football, boiling peanuts, and enjoying life with his family and friends. For his grandkids, he enjoyed making chocolate milkshakes, buying sweet treats, and exploding fireworks on the 4th of July. He took great pleasure in making his friends and family laugh by sneaking up behind them and scaring them, just a little.
