Ana C. Gonzalez passed away on Wednesday March 12, 2014. She leaves behind a son, two daughters, two grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Ana’s funeral Mass will be held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Belleview on Monday March 17, 2014 at 10:30am.
Ana was born to Gabino and Carmen Romero on April 9, 1915 in Colombia S.A. She married Marcos Gonzalez in 1940 and remained his faithful wife until he passed away in 1963. In 1975 she followed her son to the United States and stayed with his family throughout the rest of her life. Ana helped serve her immediate and extended family in the United States during her life. All members of her family will fondly recall her hospitality, her cooking (especially her aroz con pollo, rice and chicken) and her habit of serving her own famous hierba-buena, a mint tea that she prepared with the tea leaves that she lovingly grew.
In 2006 Ana moved with her son and daughter in law to Summerfield Florida after they had both retired and left New York.
