Samuel Jones Sr.

Samuel Jones Sr., affectionately known as Sam, was born in Lakeland,Florida on October 10, 1943 to the late Elijah & Pearl Jones. He was the youngest of three siblings, Willie Mae and Evelyn.

Sam grew up in a Christian home and was baptized at an early age at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. There he attended services and participated in many activities. At the age of seven, after the death of his father, he worked several jobs to help the family's finances. These experiences helped Sam develop a strong work ethic.

Sam attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee and while attending FAMU, he met the love of his life, Hazel Redden from Arcadia,Florida whom he married in 1966.
