Ophelia Barrow Jones

Ophelia Barrow Jones, age 97 passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2022. Ophelia was born January 6, 1925. Also know as Phe. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Rubearl Barrow Sr. and Mrs Mary Yancy Barrow. She confessed christ at an early age joining Lee Chapel AME Church in Morgan City. She received her education in the Morgan City School System graduating from Sumpter Williams High School.

Ophelia and Dawson joined Parks Chapel AME Church in 1955. They were dedicated and faithful members until their health began to fail. Ophelia proudly sang in the Senior and Cathedral Choir, served on the Trustee Board, at one time was the Funeral Coordinator and was leader of Class Number 5.

She was preceded in death by her husband Dawson Sr., her son, Dawson, Jr., her parents Rubearl Sr. and Mary, her sister Cleo, brother Rubearl Jr., nephew, Jeffery Richardson.

She leaves to mourn , daughter, Brenda Herndon (Charles), granddaughters Danielle Jones-AAron (Buu), Tiffany Herndon -Gilbert (Damon), Crystal Marie Herndon.

A host of grandchildren, and others who loved her and will miss her very much.
