Margaret Powell

Margaret "Victoria" Powell was born May 1, 1933 to the late Emanuel Powell, Sr. and Lue Katie Price Powell in Wisner, LA. She was the oldest of thirteen children. Margaret departed this life on August 2, 2023 at the age of 90 after a long illness.

Margaret was mother of six sons, four of whom preceded her in death: Edward Lee (Marcia) Powell, Samuel Lee (Betty) Powell (both deceased), Bobby Levon Powell (deceased), Michael (Dorothy) Bruster (both deceased), Larry Sylvester (Charmaine) Powell, and F. Patrick (deceased) (Patricia) Powell.

Margaret moved to Oakland in 1956 with her late aunt Laura Bruster and has made her home there since then. She received her education to be a dietician and then a home healthcare nurse and worked in that profession until her retirement.
