John is survived by his wife Deidre L. Smith, children - Justin, Brian, Kimberly, Leticia, John, Derrick, and Ashley. Two sisters Portia Elaine Smith Rodgers and Perdita Elesia Smith.

John M. Smith also had 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was known for his hard work ethic and love for family. He was a self-starter and a quick learner. He was a small business owner and started his own janitorial service and ran that for several years.

John is now with his beloved parents John and Ann Smith along with his brother Gregory Smith in heaven.
