William E. Bartel

Family and faith were most important to Bill. He was an active member of Northlake and St. Paul Lutheran Churches. He could fix things you didn’t know needed to be fixed. He was always good for a laugh and was happiest when those around him were happy.

He was a loving, supportive husband, dad, grandpa and great-grandpa. He will be missed by the many friends and family who loved him.

Beloved husband of Molly N.(nee Nottingham) Bartel. Loving father of; Jeanne Bartel Cushaney Kowalski, William P. (Nancy) Bartel, Ruth (Rick) (nee Sayoc) Pealer, Jennifer (Daniel) (nee Sayoc) Stedman, Judith (nee Sayoc) Wagner, and Peggy (James) (nee Bartel) Schneider. Cherished Grandfather of; Denise Cushaney, Jeffery Stedman, Jason Stedman, Randi (Randall) Lukasiewicz, Christina (Edward) Youhkana, Patrick (Tera) Schneider, Kelsey Schneider, Stacey (Aaron) Wagner, Daniel Schneider, and Rorie Pealer. Cherished Great-grandfather of five great-grandchildren. He is smiling down from heaven, as he reunites with his parents, brother, sisters, grandson, and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on November 11, 2024 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 545 Ardmore Ave., Villa Park, IL 60181. Visitation from 10:00 AM–11:00 AM. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM. A luncheon in honor of Bill will be after the service at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Private burial to follow at Chapel Hill Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery.
