Thomas William Jordan of Berkeley Illinois passed peacefully in his home at the age of 79. Thom was born in Chicago and raised by his father James William Jordan and his mother Lobie Violet with his brother James Robert.
His lengthy career as a mechanical engineer resulted in designs for the princess phone and arcade game controls. As the local car mechanic, he loved American Muscle but he was always partial to a Chevy.
He raised his two daughters Lisa and Dena with his wife Kathy. He enjoyed retirement as a professional pool player and he holds the highest lifetime match count in DuPage APA history at 3,737 games played. His teammates and opponents will remember him as the keeper of the neatest scoresheets and long cuts.
He is survived by his wife and daughters, his son in law Jim, and his five loving grandchildren: Zachary, Lydia, Adam, Kacey and Brayden.
Thom's memory and love will be carried on by his family, the sound of an American V8, the taste of a cold Dr. Pepper, and the sight of the eight ball falling into the corner pocket.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 10-12 at Chapel Hill GGardens West Funeral Home, 17w201 Roosevelt Road, Oakbrook Terrace, 60181, with a celebration of life to follow at 12pm. Burial will follow at 1pm at Arlington Cemetery, 401 E Lake St, Elmhurst, IL 60126
