My name is Yasmeen Fauzia Qazi Abdullah and Yaya was the best person in the world and I loved her more than anything. She was My Yaya.

It is hard for me to believe that Nadia is no longer with us. What a bright and loving light. She always was an angel working tirelessly for the good of humanity. I will always miss her. 

Even though it has been 2 years, I still see my dear friend's beautiful deeds and hear her laughter in a lot of what I do.  She was so loving and joyful that her memory loves on brilliantly.  It's in every particle of goodness in this world, in the many other worlds, and in heaven.  The people that knew her are just lucky to have been touched by her grace, dignity, and amazing sharp intelligence and empathy.  May she always live on in deeds and in hearts, and make the world a better place in my lifetime and for future genrations.   Ameen

On this anniversary of Nadia’s passing, I wish to focus on our last visit in Phoenix. We shared a lovely lunch, then shopping. I remember that she purchased sunglasses to shield her eyes against the AZ sun; the we drove back to the Phoenician resort where we drank lovely beverages on the terrace with her family. It was a beautiful and perfect day, and I can still see Nadia’s laughing face. 

Now she is smiling in God’s highest heaven, and I think of her as my guardian angel!

I am shocked and saddened to learn of Nadia's untimely death. I worked her on a few women's interfaith gatherings at the Little Home Church in Wayne. 
I miss her warmth, intelligence, compassion, dedication more than I can say. But more than anything I mourn our world's loss of a pure and articulate voice for peace, live, and even joy. She made a difference in my life. She continues to do so. God bless this beautiful woman!

Although I never met late Miss Nadia Qazi but our families have very deep bond and relation since Dr Masood Qazi (may God gives him excellent health and long life) was a young boy. My late father Engineer Irshad Ahmad and Dr Qazi were very good friends. And I know Dr Qazi as a very noble, kindhearted and loving person and I truly believe that his daughters carry on his qualities to further higher level. Miss Nadia Qazi was also  no exception a very lovely person full of humanity, care for others and her family. I often watch her pictures and every time I get amused by her smile, her full of life eyes and face and her beauty as I definitely consider her a very beautiful person. I think that God also needs good people and souls so that's why He has taken her away. I pray for her before God Almighty the gardens of Bliss and Jannat ul Firdous. And I also pray before Almighty Allah Ta'ala for her very noble family members the courage the Sabr e Jameel for this heavy loss.

I was so sorry to hear tonight from my mom your beautiful daughter Nadia passed away in June so very young.  You know how we can empathize with this pain.   It is very very difficult.   I haven’t felt as a parent but as someone who has lost  my dad and brother who I loved dearly.  Dr. Qazi you took such amazing care of them both and still my mom.  I am forever grateful.    From reading the tributes here to Nadia I hear all the amazing things everyone has to say about her.  Her giving heart and love for others I can see she carried on these  attributes taught to her from her dad who encompasses all these beautiful things smart, caring, passionate to make world better for others, giving of herself, teaching and most important laughter.   Her life was short but glowing in love I hear on this page.   May she Rest In Peace in love for eternity.  She will smile toward you and your family again someday. I had the pleasure to teach Nadia for three classes at Northwestern University.  But that doesn't tell the whole story.  Nadia was such a vibrant part of our classes. She shared insights, thoughts and ideas that helped everyone become better teachers.  After graduation, Nadia continued to stay connected, sharing information about her teaching opportunities, reaching out to say hello, reaching out for advice and sharing her joys about her students.  She was so excited about her new position.  Nadia had a quest for knowledge, always wanting to learn and do more for her students.  She loved her family.  In class one day, she shared beautiful pictures of her sister's wedding and was so proud of her sister and new brother-in-law.  

My heart breaks for her loss. She was loved, she loved life and she touched so many in her too short life.

My heart is reeling from the news of the loss of your daughter. I am so deeply sorry for your loss.

I first met Nadia at University of Chicago when she worked as a student with their teacher education program. A teacher at heart, Nadia was fascinated by all of of the behind the scenes activities that occurred to keep a teacher education program running and its students thriving. I remember her being drawn into the possibility of pursuing a formal licensure pathway —a spark had been lit.

Years later, in one of the first meetings I attended in my new role at Northwestern, I heard her bright and enthusiastic voice as she introduce herself to the group. What an unexpected gift to have our paths cross again! It was a joy to see Nadia grow into and fulfill her goal of obtaining licensure. She had come full circle from the moment we met. 

I will always remember the way she treated her responsibilities and her relationships with so much respect, care and love. I know I speak for the entire MSED team when I say that she touched all of our hearts. Her curiosity, kindness, and vivaciousness will be deeply missed.






You were a shining star shining brightly on Earth . May you be one of the brightest stars in the heavens .

Nadia was an unbelievably warm and deeply loving person. I will not forgot the warmth I felt every time I got to talk to Nadia at Northwestern. She will be missed sincerely. It was an honor to know her. 

Nadia was a student of mine at Northwestern in the spring of 2020. I was delighted to have her in my class--she loved to learn and her excitement for becoming a teacher was plain to see.  We stayed in touch through her first job hunt. I was so happy to hear updates about her first year in the classroom. I will miss her. Please accept my sincere condolences to your family. 

Nadia was such a presence in our social contexts of education class a couple summers ago. She went on to share her passion for learning and growing in SEED. She always sent texts on holidays and was extremely thoughtful. I am deeply saddened that her time here on earth was cut short.  She will be greatly missed. She’ll live on in my fond memories of her energy & bright spirit. 

I was at Northwestern with Nadia and I have wonderful memories of chatting with her before our classes. She was such a genuine, thoughtful person, and she could start up a conversation with anybody like they were an old friend.  Her optimism and her kindness were a gift to everyone around her.

Nadia was compassionate, warm hearted and altruistic soul. She was an active Jammat member who was always available to participate in the inter-faith conferences and any Jammat related activities and outreach programs . 

Back in 2000s, I remember she loved spending time in Barnes and Noble, going out with friends for a movie and grabbing dinner afterwards. 
  
I am sure she is up there being a proactive Jammat member and organizing the interfaith conferences and spreading the message of Islam. Nadia, I wish you could know ,you were an inspiration for the future Lajna members in spreading the message of Islam by engaging and volunteering in the inter-faith conferences hosted by the Jammat or requesting the Jammat to participate in one.

Our "Faith Club" is comprised of women of Muslim, Christian and Jewish faiths. To say that Nadia was the heart of our club, as Cathy Mousseau wrote when she shared about Nadia's passing, is an understatement. Her commitment to all of us was sharing her faith in a way we could understand, building on the similarities and not differences in our respective traditions. My heart is broken knowing she had just reached her goal with a second master's degree and was on to do the work she truly loved--teaching. But I understand through all our faith traditions that this mystery--losing her now--cannot be understood by us. It is with great sadness we share a memory and give condolences because we can't even begin.     However we must try to say something as it will help us to get closer to the embodiment of piety and kindness she was.  Nadia always had a good word to say, an encouragement.  Her inspiring good deeds are awesome and makes me wonder - "how did she do it?".  She leaves behind a legacy - her passion for Tabligh, humanity and teaching was the soul she was and is.  
Our children's sadness is evident, she's touched their hearts in their short lives.  When they saw her at mosque or in Masrooor Academy she had the best hugs for them.  She'd be genuinely delighted to see them and when Safiya volunteered sometimes at Masroor Academy, Nadia gave Safiya confidence.  
My phone conversations with her were about family, career, current affairs, never dull.  We encouraged each other in good endeavours.  She exuded love of her family, and faith and talked of her siblings and nieces and nephews achievements proudly.
I don't know how or why we were lucky enough for an empathetic, genuine person like Nadia to hone in to our family and touch our souls and become a friend.  However her compassionate ability was her natural charm.   I only scrape the surface of her life with these memories, she courageously lived as a faithful Ahmadi Muslim. I also commemorated her in the blog post below but that will never be enough as it was a life lived to the fullest by Gods Grace with  blessings that will keep on giving.  (In this life and the next).  May God raise her to the highest ranks and grant you all strength and peace.

Nadia was genuinely humble, loving and inclusive. My time in the Midwest was made warmer with wonderful memories spent with Nadia.

I cannot imagine how Aunty Yasmín, Dr. Qazi and the entire family must be feeling. Her nieces and nephews she adored. Her siblings she loved so.  I am praying for their peace and comfort. And I am imagining so many blessings showered upon Nadia for all the good deeds, the dedication to faith and truth, the tireless  commitment to building bridges and the true humility. 

I am so sorry I won’t be able to travel for the janaza but my heart is with my dear friend till we meet again.

Nadia was my gifted honors student at College of DuPage.
I recall her deep compassion for the suffering of the victims of the Holocaust in my class on  grenocide literature. She walked  through the world robed in loving kindness and dazzling intelligence.
She sought to repair that world through her interfaith outreach, 
dedication to social justice, and love of children.

As we both grew older, she became a loving and priceless friend, and I will miss her cheerful emails and calls to tell me all about her own experiences as a teacher.

May Allah grant her exquisite soul eternal rest, and may she be caught up in the bond of eternal life.






Nadia Qazi- a friend, a sister, a smiling face, full of love, care, life and enthusiasm. She has touched so many hearts, with her unique quality of making everyone feel so special. “You are the best”, these are the words I always heard from her making you feel the best. Tabligh was her passion, and her interfaith connections with people of every religion is not that everyone can do. She was God gifted in tabligh work. A very humble, caring, and sweet soul was Nadia. Her passion to delve into the meaning of Holy Quran verses and books by Khulafa, would prod us to get together for learning as a group. I am so very sorry to hear about the sudden demise of Nadia. I never saw her without a smile on her face. She brought joy to everyone around her with that contagious smile. I will remember her as someone who went above and beyond to help others around her. Nadia was always so kind to me and I remember telling her how she always taught me something new. I will pray that a soul as pure and humble as hers will now rest peacefully in heaven.
