Michael accepted Christ at an early age at First Baptist Church under the pastorage of Reverend Harry McNelty. He later joined the City of Refuge Church under the leadership of Bishop Noel Jones.
Michael enjoyed life and he always brought laughter and smiles to a room. Although he was born and raised in Chicago, Michael wanted to experience a different climate. Thus, he moved to California, where he resided for over 30 years and worked for Metro Transit Authority (MTA) until his retirement.
Michael was preceded in death by his Grandmother, Inez Clay, his Father, Romel Coleman Sr., and his Sister, Judy Kaye Coleman.
Michael leaves to cherish his memory: his soulmate, Miyuki Kato; Two Godchildren, Sumiea Kato and Victory Natsuki Rideaux; his loving Mother, Vietta Coleman; Sister, Linda Walker; Three brothers, Romel Coleman Jr.(Sandra Faye), Ronald Coleman (Ozawa) and Donald Coleman (Mary); Three Nieces; Shawnta Coleman, Cassuandra Walker and Sharee Fabusuyi (Harry); Four Nephews, David Walker (Y'Nandrea), Dederick Walker (Shola), Ronald Coleman Jr. and Romel Coleman III; a plethora of great nieces and great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
The Coleman Family would like to take this opportunity to express our sincerest appreciation for the thoughtfulness presented to us and love we have been shown during our time of bereavement.
Service will be private.
