Born in Chicago, Illinois on November 5, 1928, Bill attended Fenger High School in Chicago and worked as a steel worker for Chicago Bridge & Iron. But Bill’s passion was working as a mechanic on automobiles and he spent most of his life self-employed, owning several service stations in the Chicago south side area.
Bill and his devoted wife Nancy retired in 1983 to the Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri where he enjoyed boating, fishing and mowing the lawn before returning to New Lenox, IL in 2010. Bill is a member of the Elder William Brewster Society, and the General Society of Mayflower Descendants.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents William Goddard Brewster and Marva Page Brewster, his brother Roger James Brewster, Sr. and sister, Jane Brewster Black. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Nancy Fleming Brewster; children William (Bill) Fleming Brewster, and wife Debra Brewster of Buckeye, Arizona; Melanie Jean Burke and husband Jim Burke of Manhattan, Illinois; and Barry Joseph Brewster and wife Michele Brewster of Lakewood, Colorado; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at Symphony of Joliet, the Joliet Area Community Hospice staff, and in-home caregiver, Chris Majewski for their care and kindness toward Bill and our family. Arrangements under the direction of Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, Oak Lawn, IL.
