Dr. Thomas J. Salmon, Sr., D.D.S. passed away February 17, 2021. Beloved husband of 51 years to the late Noreen A. (NEE Murray) Salmon. Loving father of Kevin, Colleen, Michael (Stacey), Daniel and the late Dr. Noreen Salmon, D.D.S. and the late Dr. Thomas, Jr., DMD (Marietta). Loving Poppy to Daniel, Jr., Matthew and Claire. Dearest brother of Maureen (the late Earl) Gaborik.
Visitation Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central, Oak Lawn, IL from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Funeral Wednesday, February 24th with closing prayers at the funeral home 9:30 am. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. James at Sag Bridge Church, Lemont, IL at 10:30 am. Interment St. James Cemetery.
Dr. Salmon was a member of Opus Dei, attended St. Gerald Grammar School in Oak Lawn, St. Rita High School in Chicago. He did his undergrad at Loyola Arts and Sciences, graduated Loyola Dental School (1957). He practiced dentistry in Oak Lawn for over 62 years and Evergreen Park for 2 years and was a Fellow of the International College of Gnathology, International College of Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry and the Odontographic Society of Chicago. Dr. Salmon was the Past-President of the Englewood branch of the Chicago Dental Society. He was a member of the American Dental Society, Illinois Dental Society and past Director of the Chicago Dental Society. He was a Past-President of the Oak Lawn Rotary Club and member for 60 years with perfect attendance the entire time!
