There was never a single moment in my life when I didn’t know how much love you had for me and my family....you ALWAYS made sure to let us know. Even as you felt at your worst you were extraordinarily selfless. Always praying for others, always giving to others, always worried about how others were doing, despite your own struggles through many facets of your life. I will love and miss you always and will be forever grateful to have been fortunate enough to have called YOU my Abuelita. I know you are already in heaven, at peace and free from pain, watching over us and caring for us just as you did here on earth. 

I will miss you calling me and Marissa “par de locas” any time we visited you and started with our humorous nonsense. I will miss your honesty, brutal honesty....I LOVED that about you. I will miss your absolute strength and resilience in the face of hardship. I will even miss you saying “Mira! Ya llego Mike!” anytime me and my family arrived somewhere even though I was standing right next to him. I loved that you made him family and treated him as one of us grandchildren. Your love had no bounds. Ya puedes descansar Abuelita. Siempre estará en mi corazón y usted sabe lo mucho que la queremos. 

Aunque “la abuelita” como mis papás le decían no era mi abuelita de sangre, me brindaba el mismo amor, la misma atención y cariño que a todos sus nietos. Hubo un tiempo que hasta Danny pensó que me quería mas a mi que a él.  Pero con el tiempo me di cuenta que a ella el amor para sus seres queridos  le sobraba y daba la bienvenida a todo mundo como si los conociera desde hace años. Aunque biológicamente no seamos parientes, a ella la quería como si fuera mi propia abuelita.  La vamos a extrañar mucho.

Whether it was telling stories or giving her opinion on my outfit, my grandma always kept a positive attitude no matter what she was going through. She was the strongest woman I knew and put up a fight for many years. Mama Coco, you will be missed very much. I love you and thank you for always taking care of me.

I don’t have a specific favorite memory of my grandma but rather a collection of moments. Every time I left her house she would grab my face and tell me “Ya sabes que te quiero mucho.” Every time without fail. I never thought the most recent time she told me that would be the last. 
I love how she made sure people knew they were loved. My grandma loved unconditionally. All of her sons, daughters, grandkids, nieces and nephews - she loved every single one of them. She is the perfect example of a wife, mother, grandmother, and woman in general. 
The strongest person I know. Without question. My grandma fought for much of the later years of her life. Even through her fight, she still put others before herself. I strive to love others as much as she did. 
Her strength, her compassion, her resilience - all qualities she showed me how to exhibit. She was the rock of an entire family. Her memory will forever live on as the strongest and most loving woman many of us will ever know.

Mama Coco never failed to put a smile on my face while I was at her house. Whether she was offering me food as I walked in or asking me how much I paid for my ripped jeans,  I was always excited to be in her presence. She always put others before herself. I remember talking to her on the phone last week and the first thing she asked was what I ate for lunch and if I made friends. Looking back on it, it takes a strong individual to have others on your mind before yourself in a rough time like she was in. I’m going to miss you, Mama Coco. Keep watching over us and we will continue to make you proud. Love you.

Tía coco, eras como una divina Providencia para nosotros siempre tenías algo que darnos, eras una gran mujer y una gran hermana. Gracias por haber existido en mi vida. Tu vida estuvo llena de Diosidades hasta el final. Un abrazo hasta donde ahora estás y a tu familia solo queda decirles que recordarla es la mejor manera de tenerla presente.  I  love you! 

Agradezco a Dios por haberme permitido ser sobrina de mi Tía Coco. Siempre recibí una sonrisa y mucho cariño de ella. Recuerdo que con gran alegría cuando iban a La Chona y corríamos por la calle junto a su camioneta cuando ellos llegaban. Era un gusto verlos y doy gracias por toda la ayuda que me dio con la ropa que nos llevaba, nunca lo olvidaré. 
Además me cuido cuando me operaron de mis oídos, eso lo tengo bien grabado en mi corazón y se lo agradezco. 
Cuando hablaba con ella y la sentía triste, yo le decía cosas que la hicieran sonreír un poco. 
Tía siempre estarás en mi corazón y oraciones. Un abrazo hasta el cielo en donde de segura que tú estás.

Recuerdo con cariño, que cada día cuando hablábamos por teléfono, ella me decía “nunca olvides que te quiero mucho”. Yo si hermana la tendré siempre en mi corazón. Elisa Verdín. 

A los 5 años comienzo con recuerdos tuyos. Me llenabas de cariños, amor e  infinitas muñecas, esas muñecas que siempre tenías la sutileza de elegir y no la traías si no llevaban mi nombre. 

Dios te dio un corazón tan enorme y bondadoso que tenías cariño para dar a todo el mundo, gracias por siempre hacer que las personas se sintieran queridas y por ayudarlas sin esperar algo a cambio. Gracias también por enseñarme lo que ternura significa. 

Dios te tiene de vuelta con Jesús y no podríamos estar más satisfechos de que estén juntos nuevamente,  todo va a estar bien, dejaste en buenas manos a toda tu familia. 

Te quiero y extraño siempre.

She was a great lady who with her husband raised a great family. I always remembered her chorizo and eggs in flour tortillas.   She will be Missed.   Bless the whole Beltran family 

I don’t think I could’ve made it though my 35 years without my grandparents. My Abuelita was more than a constant in my life, she was a staple. She was able to see my son grow up, watch me become a nurse, and purchase my own home. Her love was a driving force. She always made sure we ate, had money, and knew we were loved. She taught me what it is to love selflessly and without boundaries. She also taught me the great art of chisme. My grandma gave even when she had nothing to give. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Abuelita, the quiero mucho.
