Paul was the beloved husband and best friend of Sue E. Omi (nee Laser). He was the loving father of Ellen Omi (Craig Chawla), Jean (Todd) Bundren & Mark (Amy) Omi, and devoted grandfather of Anna & Maya Bundren, and Ella, Evan & Eve Omi. He was the son of the late Fred & Elizabeth Omi, and the brother of James Omi (Wendy). He was preceded in death by brothers Daniel (Sara) Omi & Dwight Omi. Paul was also the uncle, cousin, nephew, friend and coach to countless.
Paul loved his family deeply. He and Sue supported and took care of each other for 52 years. He enjoyed reading, learning, fishing, firing up the grill, and spending time with his family. He laughed at all of Jean’s jokes, loaned Mark his plethora of tools and coached Ellen’s running.
Coach Omi selflessly devoted his time, heart and soul to young athletes. He had a gift for coaching and was a role model for how to win and lose with grace, on and off the track. He found the talent and spirit in every athlete and brought out the best in everyone.
On behalf of Paul, we thank all of those that took such good care of him in his final months. He felt safe, loved, and was grateful for the care he received.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating your time or money to a local youth athletic program, and always cheer for one another.
An event for the celebration of Paul’s life will be postponed until the Spring of 2022. For details regarding this event, please send your contact information to OmiCelebration@gmail.com.
