Patricia Ann Gale

Patricia Ann Gale was born on February 24, 1957, in Chicago, IL. She was the precious daughter whose life was entrusted to the love, care, nurturing and life stewardship of her parents, Leon and Dorothy Wright-Gale. Pat was the 3rd oldest out of eight siblings.

Her formal education began at Fredrick Douglas Elementary School where she went on to attend her first two years of high school at Wendell Phillips high school. She then completed her last 2 years of high school by graduating in 1977 from Jones Commercial Business High School where she majored in accounting/machine transcription.

Patricia developed a strong will to establish her own independence by the age of 14 years old, where she began working at the YMCA. At the tender age of 16 years old Pat decided to accept Christ into her life. In 1973 Pat joined the Mt. Pisgah M.B.C. Church where she was baptized under the leadership of the late Rev. Joseph Wells. Pat remained a faithful member until after the retirement of Rev. Wells. In 2014 Pat returned home to Mt. Pisgah under the leadership of Rev. Dr. E.F. Ledbetter III, where she remained a faithful servant on various ministries.

Immediately after high school in 1977 Pat started working for Northern Trust Company where she remained there until 2002. While there Pat held the titles of Wire Investigator/ Clearing House Teller and then promoted to Commercial Loan Reconciler. After retiring from Northern Trust in 2002, Pat worked as a manager for Bank of America and TCF Bank. She was also the Sales Manager for C & B Entertainment. In 2004 Patricia began working for the SCI Chicago Burial Corporation (Beverly Cemetery location) under the direction of Diane Nowak and Liz Hill. Patricia exceled at the cemetery as being the top Family Service Counselor at Lincoln/Beverly cemetery for over 10 years. Pat was amazing at servicing families during they’re time of need, she managed to turned clients into longtime friends during her time at SCI.

Patricia had a love for many different hobbies and past time passions. Her first love was sewing, this passion was self-taught for her back in high school. It was nothing for her to make an outfit in 24 hours especially whenever her birthday came. It was always a delight to see the latest design she had created. Pat had a love for dancing, and back in the day you can definitely catch Pat on the floor at a steppers set or wherever there is steppers music playing. Pat was excellent at playing bid whist, she has won plenty of tournaments in the past and has numerous plaques to show for it. She was a fantastic dart player too, and just like Bid Whist she has numerous plaques for winning many dart tournaments. Pat loved to shop and travel; she has traveled to many destinations around the world.

In church Pat was a very active and faithful servant of GOD. She served on the following ministries until her health didn’t allow her anymore. Pat served as the president of the Women’s Auxiliary, the gospel choir, the youth young adult choir, the reunion choir, member of the Nehemiah Ministry, Treasurer of pastor’s Anniversary Committee, Pastor Aid Ministry, Women’s Ministry, the Church Beautification Committee, and she spearheaded the renovation of 1st Lady Latoya Ledbetter’s office, a faithful sponsor for JG youth ministry, and privately funded several church functions over the years as being a member.

Patricia’s love for GOD and her faith in His word is what she lived by every day. She had such an open and forgiving heart, combine with her sweet and kind personality, she was just about the most humbled person you could meet. Pat found her purpose on earth, and she exceeded in doing just that. Pat was a BIG GIVER not just because it’s the Christian thing to do but because it comes so naturally for her to do. Pat gave to her ENTIRE family, extended family, friends, co-workers, church family, even people she didn’t even know. She was always blessing anyone who came cross her path. She had this unexplainable way of being blessed herself throughout her lifetime through the lottery and the casino. For most people, this would be a major event, but not for Pat she would even then still bless someone every time she had a winning. To know Pat, you couldn’t help but to love her, and if someone had something ill to say about her, that means you missed out on knowing just how amazing and kindhearted she was.

Patricia was very family oriented. She loved her family and have helped them continuously throughout her lifetime, even those whom she felt didn’t deserve it. Pat’s plan for her family was simple, she wanted to introduce them all to Christ and for them to attend church. Well for the most part she did accomplish that, her section where she sits in church grew from just her and Pinky, to having three rows of family members attending church.

On Friday, May 21, 2021, Patricia Ann Gale answered the call for the need of a giving comforter and so she began her transitional journey. On Friday, May 28, 2021, at 8:57pm she completed this transition at University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial in Harvey, Illinois.

Celebrating her legacy and cherishing her memories, she leaves her loving son James R. Adams, her nurturing parents: Mrs. & Mr. Dorothy and Leon Gale, five grandchildren: James R. Adams Jr, Amia Adams, Semaj Adams, Ahsiek Adams, and Jade Lynn Adams; five siblings, Levon Gale of Gary, Indiana, Londale Gale, Burnett Gale, Lela (Marcus) Wright-Williams, and Johnice Greer; Godchildren Min. Delvin Fuller and Ms. Atavia Fuller; Special Close Friends Charlene, Marge, Debra, and Liz; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncle, friends, and co-workers. Patricia was preceded in death by one sister Pearl Wright-Knox and one brother Alfred S. Gale.
