Marilyn J. Betterton

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marilyn Joan Beets (Betterton), who left this world on October 8, 2024, at the age of 90. Born on August 30, 1934 to Roy Beets and Isabella Emily Tilson, Marilyn graced this world with her compassionate spirit and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Throughout her life, Marilyn was known for her selfless devotion as a caregiver and was an active member of her church community.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband Melber Betterton, brother James (Helen) Beets, daughter Cindy (Randy) DeBoer, and stepson James Betterton.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Barbara (Glen) Draeger, grandsons David (Courtney) DeBoer and Daniel (Emily) Draeger, granddaughter Amanda Draeger, great grandchildren Alexa, Hailey, Makinzie, Harlyn, Waylon, and Colter, niece Jean, and nephew Robert.

Family and friends will gather to honor Marilyn’s life at 10:00 AM on October 25, 2024 at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home in Oak Lawn, IL.

Memorial donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to Hickory Hills Presbyterian Church in lieu of flowers.
