Linda Frances Brunson was the second child and only daughter to the union of Willis and Rosalina Brunson (both preceded her in death). Linda along with her older brother Willis Anthony Brunson Jr. attended St Joachim Catholic Church regularly with their mother and later her daughter Tara. She continued to attend church regularly and was an extremely devout faithful catholic.
Linda grew up in the West Chesterfield Neighborhood and attended St Joachim Catholic Elementary School, and Academy of Our Lady High School, where she graduated with honors. Upon graduating High School, Linda attended Bradley University.
Linda loved to listen to her favorite male groups; you could see Linda on any given Saturday morning singing, dancing, and cleaning the house. Linda worked for Peoples Gas Light & Coke for many years, there is where she met many lifelong friends. There were two co-workers that she was very close with, Celestine Bell and Beverly Marshall. Linda was very generous, kind, and gorgeous, which brought a lot of suitors. She was a flirt! Linda loved life and loved to take trips with her daughter Tara, her “other daughter” Toya and her sister Gwenie.
Linda was a faithful member of The Mother’s Club (TMC), a club that was established for Mothers and their children to expose them to social and educational opportunities, the children who were called The Lollipops.
Linda also loved to travel and plan trips for the block club to the casino where she had a “lucky arm”. Linda also organized and passed out food that was delivered to the block on a weekly basis. She along with her good friend Velma Cox and goddaughter Courtney would package and deliver food boxes to the neighbors, and passer-byers; she always wanted to make sure everyone was fed; food, candy, and cookies.
Linda was an avid volunteer at Robert A. Black Magnet School where her granddaughter Ariel attended. There, she was a cheer coach, room mom, runner, and would facilitate breakfast, and lunch for honor students. She would also make sure her “kids” Ariel and Dani (other granddaughter) would attend or have McDonald’s for lunch.
Linda had a great love for and an unexplainable bond with her dogs, it has been said that on March 18th, 2021, the night she went “HOME” her beloved dog, Fendi cried and howled all night long.
Linda truly had a heart for people, she never met a stranger. She made sure that everyone was taken care of and had everything that they needed, wanted, or desired! Most recently at the onset of the pandemic, Linda would get up at the crack of dawn and would travel the ends of the Earth to secure Lysol spray, Clorox wipes, hand sanitizer, etc. for her family.
Fond memories of Linda will be cherished and felt in the hearts of her loving and supportive daughter Tara S. GreenBey (Samuel), Granddaughters Ariel Angela Johnson, Soleil Lauren-Rose Sisney, Grandson Savion Lee Sisney Great Granddaughter Laila Frances Carr, Brother, Willis Anthony Brunson Jr. (Saundra), Niece Alesia Nikki Brunson- Dowell (Carmon DaWayne), Nephews, Willis Anthony Brunson III, Frederick Christopher Brunson (Kimberly), Matthew Alexander Brunson.
