My cousin Judy had long advanced to the "adult table" at family holiday dinners while I was still treading water at the "kids table." Even with that distance in years I noticed there was something special about her that caused people to gravitate towards her. She was full of energy, warmth and love, she promoted laughter and I admired her sense of fashion.
Her laughter was a bubbly effervescent, infectious laugh that had a rippling effect of joy to all those within hearing distance.

  We next met as adults and she was beautifully dressed to the nines, her sense of fashion was never-ending.  I was anxious I wouldn't be remembered and yet she smiled as she approached and engulfed me in a huge hug. 
Her hug was so welcoming, conveying such warmth and love, I just about melted into her arms. Stepping back, she put her hands on my shoulders and looked into my eyes. I could see her love for me reflected there and I felt like a lost child returning home.
I've never forgotten how deeply loved she made me feel that day. Looking back, remembering the warmth and love in her hug and the sound of her voice, I realized that it reminded me of the way her Mother, my Auntie Donnie, used to greet me.

Although many memories in my life have faded, the feelings Judy shared with me that day will always remain in my heart as a treasured memory.

If, during her short lifetime, Judy gave to her family and friends what she once gave to me over a fleeting number of minutes, then we were all truly blessed.
Her precious time on this Earth was too short for us all.

I am sorry i didn’t get to this sooner.. My cousin Judy was like a sister to me when we were growing up. She and I were only 7 months apart. She was the oldest in her 
family , I was the oldest girl in mine, and both of us had brothers-no sisters - then. We would spend the night (at her house mostly), laughing and talking into the night-whenever we were together we had fun!

 One of my happiest and special memories of times with her was New Year’s Eve at least twice at her house. Her Mom let us stay up and watch the White Christmas movie then we went out on the front porch to bang wooden spoons on pots at midnight! My Mother never let us stay up til midnight. Ever. 

My sincerest condolences go out to all of her family and friends who will miss her as I do. I apologize for not representing my family better at the visitation-hadn’t eaten, spent two hours in traffic  getting there, and was shocked to learn she had been sick— she never said a word to me about that. 

She was so happy with her daughters Jamie & Britt and husband Steve and especially to have her granddaughter, Ava. When we talked on the phone after i got back to Chicago,  she was still the talkative, funny Judy I always knew and loved ❤️ & still love. Hope you are peaceful and at rest in Heaven.  Cousin Wendy.

I met Judy in 1967 at Illinois Bell - she trained me on the old long distance cord boards. We had so much fun at our job!  I felt at times that we were like sisters and we looked at that time like twins! I finally met Judy’s forever friend Peggy Mc Mahon
(Gallagher)the three of us became best friends and had many laughs and also tears together!  We were the inseparable three!
We have all kept in contact for all these years even though we are living in different states.  We will be forever friends but we will miss our Judy, she was taken from us way too soon!😢 it is so hard to say goodbye🙏love you Judy

I’m Gail (Bolduc) Cartwright ~ Lakewood, Colorado

Judy was our cousin.  Her mother and our father were siblings.
I have such warm memories of Auntie Donnie and Uncle Jimmy and
all the kids.  As well as Aunt JoAnn and her children, and of course Grandma and Grandpa Bolduc, and Great Auntie Jo. (And Laddie!)

Oh the family gatherings - Thanksgiving and Christmas, and backyard picnics with striped canvas sling chairs.  There are 6 children in our family, and each of the Dugdale children was close in age to one of us.

I am sad she is gone in such an unexpected time.
I will miss her wit and hearty laugh.
I know she was thrilled to be a grandma for the first time, 
and I am grateful that she experienced such a joy.

You are all dearly loved.

I pray our Lord will undergird Steve and her children and granddaughter, and her dear siblings with strength, grace, mourning and lovely memories of her.  There is much to draw from that well.   Cuz Gail
