was very sorry to hear of johns passing. the few occasions we met were always memorable and thoroughly enjoyable on my behalf, my deepest sympathy to all the fallon family in chicago.

We are so sorry for the loss.  During a recent conversation with my mother she mentioned that she had seen an obituary in January for John Fallon in her local paper (Du Page County.)  She thought that it may be for your father, my dad's cousin. (My grandfather Thomas Fallon was one of your grandfather Bernard's older brothers.)  She always liked your father and remembers meeting your brother when he was a boy sometime in 1975.  Needless to say, she was especially saddened to find out that the obituary was for his son. I found the Friends of Fallon site and the full obituaries which I shared with her.  Your brother was certainly a remarkable man.  
Strangely, my mother has always been a fan of the Polar Bear club.  Not that she would ever do it herself, but she has unsuccessfully encouraged her father, brothers, husband and sons to jump into a hole in the ice in Lake Michigan.  She was very impressed that your brother would do it for charity wearing a kilt and playing bagpipes.  I've mailed her a copy of the picture which I'm certain will end up on her refrigerator door.

John was a true friend who was always there for me even though he had so many struggles in his own life. He loved his family and friends and absolutely glowed when talking about Jack, Sarah and Declan.  He talked of his sister Erin and said she was one of his best friends and closest confidants.  He said his mother was there for him and took him into her home when he got sick and had to give up his condo downtown. All his friends were so dear to him as well and kept him going during the hard times and multiple treatments he had to endure. The Shannon Rovers were unbelievable to John and he said they were one of the most positive, inspiring groups of people he had ever known. For all those who knew John, his loss will be strongly felt. He was so alive and vibrant with a wonderful sense of humor. God bless John Fallon.  I will never forget you.

I have known John for over 15 years.  I met him through his cousin. He managed to invite me to all kinds of fundraisers and public events I might never have gone to.  He was a devout Catholic and great friend especially in my time of need.  John and his cousin made the worst time of my life a little easier.  John is with the angels now  and i gain solace that he is no longer in pain. God bless you John and the Fallon  family.

I was fortunate to know and work with John a little at the County, and I always looked forward to seeing him. He was a great guy, and his joy and sense of humor were infectious. The world is a poorer place today without John. My deepest condolences to his family.

I had the privilege of running side by side with John for 15 miles during the 2008 Marathon. His courage and tenacity was an inspiration to so many, and his friendship is something I will always cherish. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all who loved him in life.

His consistent kindness, gentleness goes way back to grade school days. I was honored to have him attend my wedding and we re-connected this past year over the Big C, marathons, which Chicago baseball team would likely win the World Series. His tenacity in driving straight thru his large battles is something I will never ever forget. He taught me that we do choose our own attitude. I hope to one day have 10% of his courage. Many prayers and thoughts to his sweet mom and sister. Thanks for sharing the gift of John Fallon with all of us.

I attended St. John Fisher with John.  I will always remember his bright blue eyes and kindness to all.  This trait did not change decades later when we reconnected on facebook.  His wit and bravery will be sorely missed. Even while he was fighting his own battle, he contributed to my cause which is brain tumors.  I was taken aback by his generosity.  I am not sure what happened but he was so upbeat in the last month. God Bless John.

My sincere condolences to John's family.  I met John in the Assessor's office many years and always knew him to be a bright and talented contribution to staff.  His Irish sense of humor got him through difficult times and his loyalty was unquestioned.  May God give him rest and joy forever.

I had the pleasure of knowing this fine young man the past five years.  I was fortunate to have witnessed how John dealt with his illness with dignity.  I consider him a friend and I know I am just one of many who will miss his smile and friendship.

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing.  Dave and I have known him since he was a teenager when he and our daughter, Mary Eileen, worked together in the Assessor's Office during the summers.  He would drove downtown to work with us in the mornings.  John was always such a nice young man and it was a pleasure watching him grow into a wonderful, accomplished and, best of all, a caring and good person.  Our condolences to his family.  We are our of town and so unable to attend the services, but our prayers and thoughts are with you all.

John was a wonderful friend to my family and to so many other people as well.  His determination and positive outlook was remarkable.  He always put others first and took the time to give a kind word or sincere gesture to benefit someone else.  His Irish wit was quick and he had a wonderful sense of humor.
