November 3, 2023, from complications related to the rare neurological disorder, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).
Born in Chicago on October 7, 1935, she was the daughter of Joseph and Annabelle Winters.
JoAnn was devoted to her family and her faith. She was fun-loving, an avid reader and writer, lover of dogs, enjoyed spending time in Florida, listening to music, cooking for her many family members and friends, and traveling. She spent her career as a legal secretary to a criminal defense attorney and was a consistent contributor to a Chicago Sun-Times column as a “Regular Joe.”
JoAnn was the beloved wife of the late Walter F. Biszewski, loving mother of Lauren Biszewski (the late Mikel Dodd), the late Scott (Yvonne) Biszewski, and April (John) Zyck, treasured sister of Judith (the late Richard) Jaros, cherished grandmother of Alyse (Mike) Rourke, Joseph (Lauren) Biszewski, Buck Dodd, Bryanna Biszewski, Sophia Dodd, Jason Zyck, Isabella Dodd and Nathan Zyck, dear great grandmother of three, aunt to many nieces and nephews as well as a devoted friend to all.
A visitation for JoAnn will be held Sunday, November 12, 2023 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home, 4727 West 103rd Street in Oak Lawn. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home Monday, November 13, 2023 for prayers at 9:30am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at St. Cajetan Catholic Church 2445 West 112th Street in Chicago. Interment at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum 1400 S. Wolf Road in Hillside. Luncheon to follow.
