James A. Dudlicek, 78, passed away on December 19th, 2020. James was born in Chicago on February 18, 1942. His parents were Bernice Dudlicek (nee Smocek) and James E. Dudlicek, and his sister is Barbara Dudlicek. James celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary to Linda Dudlicek (nee Vaicekauskis) this August. James is also survived by his son James L. Dudlicek, daughter Laura Magenta (nee Dudlicek), and 3 grandchildren: Mia Dudlicek, Sophia Magenta, and August Magenta.
James worked for 38 and a half years in the Chicago Public School system as a high school teacher in the subjects of Computer Aided Drafting, Mathematics, and Driver’s Education. He was a passionate outdoorsman, having many backcountry adventures as a young man and then yearly summer camping trips with his family. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, hunting with family and friends, and served as President of a local Trap and Field Club. He loved to spend hours on scenic drives with his wife, enjoying ethnic food at restaurants near and far, but home cooking was his favorite, making memories around the table. He was also a train enthusiast and traveled to numerous train museums over the years and enjoyed scenic rides out west.
A visitation will be held Monday December 28, 2020 at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home. Please call the funeral home to make your reservation to attend at (708)636-1193 as space is limited due to gathering restrictions.
Funeral Service to be held Tuesday morning at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home but due to limited capacity, the services will be private. However, the family would like to invite friends and family to join our procession to James final place of rest at St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery by meeting us the parking lot at 10:00A.M. to join the car line up.
In consideration of the safety of our guests and associates, Blake-Lamb Funeral Home will adhere to the current gathering restrictions in the state of Illinois, which allow 10 or fewer guests at services.
