James T. “Jim” Donnellan, age 92 (born June 10, 1922), passed on July 4th, 2014 – after a short battle with cancer. July 4th was a fitting day for this proud WWII Navy veteran

Jim served in the Pacific theatre during WWII on the LCS 87 and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was proud to have visited the WWII memorial in 2005. Upon his return from duty he worked as Master Scheduler for the Hotpoint Refrigeration division of General Electric, the American Lock Company, and Maytag, Inc. He also served as a leader in the Chicago Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and as School Board President for the Chicago Ridge Public School District 127 1/2.
Jim was known as a “master tinkerer” - of woodworking and technology (he built his first computer from scratch, but more recently enjoyed his iPad). He was a great storyteller who loved his crossword puzzles, his music, and his chardonnay.
